With the national Opinions on Enhancing Ideological and Moral Construction of Juveniles and Notification on Further Management of the Current Ticket Price of Tourist Attractions in mind, the Regulation is set to further promote the sound development of science popularization venues and regulate the administration to ticket price.

1 Free visits and discounts

1. Non-adults, who match following conditions, can visit the main exhibition hall for free.

(1) Time for free or discounted visits:

All opening hours excluding national holidays, public holidays, the Children’s Day, Summer holidays and Winter holidays. Summer holidays are from 1^st July to 31^st August.

(2) Conditions for free visits:

a. For individuals: Juveniles with valid documentations and accompanied by an adult are able to visit for free. (Tickets are needed for the adults. Each adult is only able to accompany one child.)

b. For groups: 30 or more primary or secondary school students, organized by school (including vocational institutes and other schools for non-adults), according to Agreement on Free Tickets of Student Group of the China Science and Technology Museum, are able to visit for free.

(3) Conditions for discounted visits:

Juveniles without company of adult can visit at half price with valid documentations.

2. Specific groups of people with valid documentations can visit the main exhibition hall for free in all opening hours, they include:

Children under 1.2 meters and accompanied by an adult (every adult is only able to accompany one child), senior citizens over 65 years old, active army (including the armed police), the disabled, martyr's family, the scientific and technical workers of senior titles or above in Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering.

3. Special groups of people with valid documentations can visit the main exhibition hall for specified holidays, including:

Model workers above provincial level on May 1^st; excellent Party members and Party workers above provincial level on July 1^st; teachers with a license on September 10^th; senior citizens above 60 years old on The Double Ninth Festival (9^th September in the lunar calendar).

2 Ticket price

1. General ticket: 30 yuan per person

2. Student ticket: 20 yuan per person with valid documentations, full-time undergraduates or below (adult education excluded)

3. Discounted ticket: 15 yuan per person for juveniles under 18 years old, without company of adult, in opening hours excluding national holidays, public holidays, the Children’s Day, summer holidays and winter holidays.

4. Group ticket for non-students: 20 yuan per person

5. Group ticket for students: 15 yuan per person with valid documentations, for full-time undergraduates or below (adult education excluded)

Children’s Science Paradise:

1. Child: 20 yuan per person

2. Adult: 10 yuan per person

3. Group tickets for children: 15 yuan per person

4. Group tickets for adult: 10 yuan per person

Dome Theatre, Giant Screen Theatre, Motion Theatre, 4D Theatre

1. General ticket: 30 yuan per person

2. Student ticket: 20 yuan per person with valid documentations, full-time undergraduates or below (adult education excluded)

3. General group ticket: 20 yuan per person

4. Group ticket for students: 15 yuan per person with valid documentations, full-time undergraduates or below (adult education excluded)

3 Ticketing Notice

1. Admission tickets are only valid on the specified day. Theatre tickets are only valid on specified session.

2. Dome Theatre and Motion Theatre are not suitable for patients with heart disease or hypertension, young children, and infants; Motion Theatre is not available for children under 1.2 meters and senior citizens over 70 years old.

3. Children’s Science Paradise is suitable for children of 3 to 10 years old.

4. To buy group tickets, identification from the organization is required.

5. Time for ticket-booking: 9:30—16:00 from Tuesday to Sunday (not available when the museum is closed)
